THE FLOOD (A Metaphor)
The rivers were swollen. The polar bear frolicked on the ice, in the freezing, falling snow. The oceans rose. Tears of pain welled in mothers' eyes, but did not fall. Tears of mirth and joy poured off the last high keening note of a giddy laugh..............more detail

Transformational massage philosophy
The First Law of Thermodynamics says that energy under normal conditions cannot be created or destroyed, simply transformed from one type of energy to another. Thus a chemical reaction such as lighting a match does not create new energy but only converts one type of energy to another. What's happening with the match is that as the match is burnt, potential energy is released and converted to heat and light, kinetic energy. Do You Really Want to Know
I had a conversation with a young lady who was upset with her significant other because of the lack of dialogue or communication between them. Things just didn't go deep enough. She stated that because he wasn't as forthcoming or as open about certain personal matters from the past, that he didn't love her. I wanted to side with her, but coming from a man's point of view, we know that in order to keep "peace in the house................more detail

Dating Advice
Very few relationships start on terms other than sweetness and politeness. In the beginning, the honeymoon" of the relationship, it's difficult to determine what type of individual you are dating. Both you and the date are guarded, trying to obtain information about the other as much as possible without seeming like a police detective..............more detail

Commitment is one of those qualities that everyone seems to think he or she can define, until he or she is asked to define it. Recognizing committed couples is easier than describing one. One’s actions demonstrate commitment rather than their words.

Nephrologist Martin Pollak and his team found that a common genetic mutation of the APOL1 gene might be partly responsible for African Americans' susceptibility. The mutation likely arose due to natural selection because it protects against African sleeping sickness, Pollak wrote. Yet it also makes African Americans more vulnerable to kidney disease, according to the study released last month in the online issue of Science Magazine.
